The final exams for 2,500 Molise students are underway
MOLISE. Also for the 2023/2024 school year, the commissions of the final state exam of the second education cycle are composed of an external president, three external members and three internal members of the school institution. The first written Italian test is scheduled for Wednesday 19 June at 8.30am, common to all courses. On June 20th we continue with the second test which concerns the disciplines characterizing the individual study paths.
For the professional institutes of the current system (Legislative Decree 61/2017) the second test is not centered on the disciplines but on the skills to be obtained and on the fundamental thematic cores of direction. It is a single integrated test in which the Ministry provides the “general national frame of reference” and the commissions build the tracks by declining the ministerial indications according to the specific training path activated by the school.
For the Esabac, Esabac techno sections (sections with international option, for the schools of the autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta and of the autonomous Province of Bolzano, for the schools with Slovenian teaching language and with bilingual Slovenian/Italian teaching in Friuli Venezia Giulia ) a third written test is also scheduled which will take place on Tuesday 25 June 2024.
At the end of the written tests, candidates will have to take the oral test. The conversation also concerns the transversal teaching of civic education. This is a multi- and interdisciplinary interview: in short, the commission evaluates both the candidate’s ability to grasp the connections between the knowledge acquired and the educational, cultural and professional profile of the student. It will start from an initial starting point chosen by the Commission. It is the phase of the exam in which to enhance the student’s training and growth path, skills, talents and ability to elaborate, in a multidisciplinary perspective, the most significant themes of each discipline. The latter will be indicated in each student’s Class Council document. During the interview, the candidate explains, through a short report and/or a multimedia essay, the PCTO experience (transversal skills and orientation paths) carried out during his studies.
In the final ballot, the class council assigns the score for the credit gained in the second two-year period and in the last year up to a maximum of forty points: twelve points for the third year, thirteen for the fourth year and fifteen for the fifth year. The behavioral evaluation contributes to the determination of the school credit. The final grade of the State Exam is expressed in hundredths divided as follows:
- maximum 40 points for school credit
- maximum 20 points for the first piece of writing
- maximum 20 points for the second paper
- maximum 20 points for the interview.
The commission can assign up to 5 “bonus” points for those who are entitled to them. The sum of all these points results in the final grade of the exam. The maximum score is 100 (with honors possible). The minimum score to pass the exam is 60/100.
SECONDARY SCHOOL – 2023/2024
In the 2023/2024 school year, at a national level there will be 526,317 students involved in the tests (512,530 internal candidates and 13,787 external), while there are 14,072 commissions, for a total of 28,038 classes. The breakdown of candidates by type of study path is as follows:
High schools: 266,057
Technical Institutes: 172,504
Professional institutes: 87,756
The State Exams for the 2023/2024 school year in the Molise Region record a total of 2500 internal and external candidates. Data updated as of 14 June 2024.
For the province of Campobasso 1,816 internal candidates, for that of Isernia 652.
The external candidates who will take the State Exams are 32 in total.
As regards the distribution by type of institution, the majority of internal candidates opted for high school, followed by technical and professional.
