In recent days, the Office IX USR Sicily – Territorial Area of Ragusa has signed two important memoranda of understanding with the Ragusa Police Headquarters and with the University of Catania.
An agreement within the training and pedagogical research it was signed last June 13th with the University of Catania, through the Department of Education Sciences, and has a duration of three years (in the photo).
This collaborative initiative aims to co-design and implement research and training actions aimed at teaching staff on emerging educational, social and cultural issues and in line with the principles of the Agenda 2030 programme, to promote studies and research of educational nature on the issues of educational poverty, school dropout and the fight against social inequalities especially in the transformed area of Ragusa, on the issues of 0 – 6 education. The parties will also collaborate in the organization of seminars and workshops on topics of common institutional interest in the the scope of training processes and may also involve other partners among the institutional subjects interested in training and education issues.
The collaboration also includes the activation of consultancy on specific pedagogical/didactic topics at the request of the USP or schools, training and refresher courses, master’s degrees, internships and training courses.
For the collaboration, the contact persons for the University of Catania are Prof. Gabriella D’Aprile, full professor of General and Social Pedagogy and Dr. Giambattista Bufalino, researcher of General and Social Pedagogy, for the Office IX USR Sicily – AT RAGUSA, the teachers Enrichetta Lo Presti and Giorgia Iurato.
The memorandum of understanding was then signed on June 12th for the prevention and fight against bullying, cyberbullying and pathological addictions between the IX USR Sicily Office – AT Ragusa, the Ragusa Police Headquarters, the Operational Center for Cyber Security in Eastern Sicily and the Provincial Health Authority of Ragusa.
The agreement aims to offer school staff, students and families support to implement health promotion interventions and forms of prevention of bullying and cyberbullying phenomena, also through information and training activities on the issues of legality and of active citizenship.
For the Director of the Provincial School Office, Dr. Viviana Assenza, the awareness campaign and the other activities envisaged in the agreement could lead to more incisive and effective interventions for the benefit of students and the entire school community. Collaboration between organizations is certainly a winning prerequisite for protecting the safety and health of citizens.
