Change of leadership in the parish of Santi Apostoli and Sant’Anna in Busto Arsizio. Current parish priest transferred Don Maurizio Bianchihe arrives Don Stefano Rho. A curiosity: the first will also govern a parish in Bubbiano, where the second comes from.

The announcement during the masses with applause and emotion

Here is the communication from the parish, edited by Michele Schioppa

During the masses of 15 and 16 June 2024 some representatives of the pastoral councils of the church of SS. Apostles Peter and Paul and of Sant’Anna announced to their communities the transfer of the parish priest Don Maurizio Bianchi to Busto Arsizio approximately 13 years ago.

Don Maurizio Bianchi was ordained a priest on 12 June 1993, until September 2011 he was vicar of the community of Saints Cornelio and Cipriano of Cerro Maggiore, since 2011 he has been appointed Vicar of the Pastoral Community “S. Benedetto” in Busto Arsizio where on 1 February 2012 he became parish priest of the church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul; furthermore, in fact since 1 January 2023 (formally since 10 January 2023) he has been Administrator of the Parish of S. Anna in Busto Arsizio of which he became Parish Priest on 2 March 2023.

For almost three years there had been rumors of transfers always postponed until the current decision known to the pastoral and economic affairs councils of the two parishes led by the priest, but made official with a letter dated 14 June 2024 from the vicar bishop of the area Monsignor Luca Raimondi. Letter read on 15 and 16 June at the end of each mass to the parish communities.

In it we learn that “from next September your parish priest Don Maurizio Bianchi will leave your communities to become parish priest of the pastoral unit between the parishes of Rosate and Bubbiano, in the deanery of Abbiategrasso. I am grateful to Don Maurizio for the ministry carried out among you, for many years at the SS Apostoli and recently at S. Anna, as parish priest of pastoral unity. I also thank him for this new availability to the bishop’s call.

Your new parish priest, both of the Holy Apostles and of S. Anna, will be Don Stefano Rho. Don Stefano was born in Milan in 1965 and became a priest in 1990; he is currently parish priest in Bubbiano (in one of the parishes that will be entrusted to Don Maurizio!).

I invite you to pray for those who leave and those who arrive, knowing that just as you will be able to greet and thank Don Maurizio, so you will be able to welcome Don Stefano with enthusiasm. Furthermore, I am sure that with Don David, your parish vicar, you will all be available to be collaborators and co-responsible for the life of your parishes which are experiencing the effort to walk in unity”. The letter ends with the blessing of the Archbishop and Bishop Luca Raimondi.

Upon reading the letter, amidst the emotion, there was a loud applause of thanks for his ministry.
