Enrico Bonzaninigeneral manager of Carpispoke during the programme “A Tutta C” broadcast on TMW Radio to talk about the return of the Emilian club to Serie C.

Director, how did you find yourself in the role of general manager after growing up with other roles within the club?
“For someone like me who starts in a club with various positions and reaches the top, it’s very strange. The greatest satisfaction is that I believe that some of the results that have arrived depended on the large group that was created.”

How big and complex is the transition from Serie D to Serie C?
“The Serie D championship is amateur in name only. I believe that by now we have understood that it is another professional championship. In fact, just think of the clubs that didn’t hit the C, like Piacenza or Sambenedettese, and think of the budgets they had. Now we are working in another world given that president Marani wants a very beautiful and high-level championship. We are working with our heads down because our goal is to remain in this category, which in my opinion is perfect for the place. We are fortunate to have an exceptional president. We will try to be ready. We went from half a meter to five meters.”

Which Lega Pro tournament did you find again?
“I am finding a very high level and I am finding many clubs that want to get to know each other directly. This was the first situation that pleasantly surprised me. I believe that in each group there will be 4-5 teams with great ambitions, the usual ones that want to consolidate and those that will have to put on their helmets to fight. We must be ready because we will probably be put in a group in which 10 clubs can aim for Serie B. We must be ready for a battle”.

Group B will be waiting for you.
“On an environmental level, Group B with places like Latina or Ascoli will also be very charged from an environmental point of view. I believe, then, that the category does not define the company in question. I think that the entire Serie C is lucky enough to have 60 teams that will want to achieve their goal and I can say, with great pride, that Carpi will be among these.”

Serie C but not only: what are the club’s new projects?
“Today’s Carpi is and wants to be a company. It does not accept tenders for either players or suppliers. We want to work in the area for both things. There is a great focus on the corporate side but there are also many initiatives to improve.”

Finally, space for the market. There is talk of former Fiorenzuola Sorzi as a sensitive target.
“For me, secrets don’t exist and therefore we need to give the right news. Sorzi is a player we like a lot and who opened great at Carpi. We are very calm, we know that on July 15th we will not have a 100% squad. Now first we need to consolidate ours. When you come to Carpi you have to understand that you are embracing a project.”
