ROVIGO – It is with great pride that the Solmec Rhodigium Basketball confirms one of the pillars of last season in LBF Serie A2. After the confirmations of Silvia Viviani and Camilla Bonivento, the Rovigo company is pleased to announce the agreement found with the long Sara Zanettiat the center of the project also for the next sports season.
It seems almost obvious to point out how good last season was for Sara Zanetti. Arriving in Rovigo with practically no experience in A2 after the year in Battipaglia, the class of 2004 quickly became recognized for their great scoring skills. Zanetti finished the regular season in 10th place with an average of 12.8 points per game, only to then increase his averages in the playout series against Carugate. At the end of the season, the Bolognese player finished with 13 points and 9.3 rebounds on average, with two 30-point performances in the season.
These great figures have allowed Zanetti to receive two important calls from the national team: the first is that of the “Green Team”, the experimental selection, to play two friendlies in Spain. The second arrived to play the Under 20 European Championships in Lithuania. After such a season, it was plausible that the red-blue star would also be sought by high-ranking teams in A2. Despite this, Zanetti decided to stay in Rovigo thanks to the stimulating project presented to him by the management.
