Two people have been arrested by the Carabinieri – on the orders of the Nocera Inferiore Prosecutor’s Office – for the murder of Mario Carotenuto, the 35-year-old from Angri found lifeless in a pool of blood, in the night between Saturday and Sunday, near of the intersection between via Risi and via Da Procida. He is a 40-year-old Anglo entrepreneur, owner of a well-known nightlife venue in the historic center, and his 30-year-old collaborator of Romanian origins.
The investigations
The investigations conducted by the military – we read in a note from the Prosecutor’s Office – have made it possible to reconstruct what happened. In particular, on the same Saturday evening, on two previous occasions, Mario would have disturbed the customers and staff of some nightlife venues in the historic center, causing actual scuffles. The viewing of the images extracted from the video surveillance cameras in the area then made it possible to reconstruct all the phases of preparation and execution of the murder, allowing the identification of the two alleged perpetrators. The police also found and seized a baseball bat and a gun, used in the deadly attack. The two men were locked up yesterday evening at the Salerno prison.
