Muricello, here are the finalists of the Twelfth edition of the Literary Prize

The twelfth edition of the Muricello Prize will be held on 12 and 13 July in San Mango D’Aquino

There are six finalists for the Literary Prize, the winner of which will be announced on the first evening of the show It’s about Giuseppe Aloewith his “Le cose di prima”, published by Rubettino; Claudio Dionesalvi with “Miniscule Letters”, published by the publishing house “Le sheep Nere”; Stefano Amato with “Kruje’s Last Candle”, Neri Pozza; Marcostefano Gallo with “Scacciasogni”, The Black Sheep; Vins Gallico with “The God of the Strait”, Fandango; Laura Montuoro with “Where the sea ends” published by Book Tribù.

The Muricello Prize also wanted to recognize lifetime achievement Achille Curcioa European poet who was able to describe not only his land, but man and modern society in all its forms.

They were selected by the Prize jury made up of Rosalba Baldino, journalist and writer from Cosenza, Letizia Cuzzola, writer and editor, from Reggio Calabria; Ippolita Luzzo, writer and blogger from Lamezia; Antonio Pagliuso, writer and editor-in-chief of Glicine magazine; Angelica Artemisia Pedatella, writer, musician and playwright, resident in Aiello Calabro; Francesca Veltri, from Cosenza, university professor and writer.

Among the innovations of the Literary Prize are the inclusion of the winner of the previous edition on the jury for a period of one year and the birth of Muricello Off, a new section of the event which aims to involve high school students to raise young people’s awareness of reading.

A first step has already been taken with the Carlo Rambaldi Higher Institute of Lamezia Terme. In the past school year, teacher Teresa Sinopoli coordinated the establishment of a jury of students who read some books and chose the winner, who will be revealed on the award night.

A partnership strongly desired by the creator of the Antonio Chieffallo Award and the school director Anna Primavera which opens a season of collaboration between the event and Calabrian schools to open up the education of students towards reading.

A part of the evening will also be dedicated to Franco Costabile, on the centenary of his birth, with the reading of some poems that will trace the human and artistic path of the poet from Lamezia.

An edition, in short, which is renewed within a now tried and tested format, which makes the Muricello Prize an important cultural event in the regional panorama.
