UDINE – With the start of next week, the Municipality of Udine kicks off the activities of summer recreational centers, a service increasingly requested by families. This year, the numbers speak for themselves: doubled questions it’s a 60% increase in families involved compared to two years ago. The Councilor for Education and Culture Federico Pirone expresses satisfaction with the results achieved and the innovations introduced.

Exponential growth in enrollment

Thanks to’advance registration procedures, applications doubled compared to 2022, going from 1617 to 3233. This increase demonstrates the families’ appreciation for the service offered. Despite the strong growth, available places have increased by 20% in the last two years, guaranteeing a place for all children who apply.

Inclusivity and support for families

The families involved they increased by 315 units compared to 2022, allowing more children to take advantage of summer activities. The age group between 6 and 11 years saw the greatest increase, with 1052 registrations out of 1110 places available, marking an increase of 21% compared to last year. Even for the 3-6 year age group and the 11-14 year age group, registration numbers are positive, demonstrating strong demand in all age groups.

Significant investments and new activities

The Municipality of Udine has decided to invest 810 thousand euros annually for the next three years, an increase of 260 thousand euros compared to 2022. This financing has made it possible not only to expand the available places but also to improve the overall service. Among the new features, the inclusion of new professional figures in the teams of educators and the implementation of sports activities and bilingual educational projects linked to the Friulian language stands out.

Collaborations and new locations

This year, the collaboration with the Friulian Museum of Natural History will be strengthened, with over 50 visits and workshops on climate change. The locations dedicated to children include Zambelli, Baldasseria Media, and the new entries Pick and Taverna. For primary schools, the available locations will be Nievo, Negri, Pellico, Girardini and the Julia Division.

Councilor Pirone underlines how theadvance registration of two months has allowed families to better plan their holidays and find valid support in organizing family time. The new professional figures and sporting and bilingual activities introduce a stimulating and educational environment, responding to the needs of children and young people.
