A long and detailed intervention, following the inauguration of the ‘Thyrus’, the sculpture visible at the Filipponi roundabout. The president of the amateur sports association Thyrus Cycling Team Terni Eros Salvati has in fact published a post on the official channels, where he expresses profound disappointment at not having been invited to the ceremony that preceded the ribbon cutting.
The story: “The inauguration of the Thyrus took place on Saturday 15 June, a beautiful work that represents the symbol of our city. A beautiful and imposing work, in stainless steel and made in such a way that, when seen from various perspectives, it changes appearance. The commitment of all those who worked is commendable. Then, because there is a later, we learned that all the associations which have the Thyrus as their symbol were invited. Our association – specifies the president – is called Thyrus Cycling Team Terni and we have created, with our efforts and without anyone’s help, the most important e-bike rental center in the entire province called Thyrus bike rent. Let’s leave aside the various projects that we are laboriously carrying out, always with our efforts and money, such as the Enea Armeni museum (inventor of the bicycle gearbox), the “people’s room” in Piediluco. And also our commitment to social issues, collections, funds, donations, various redevelopments and I could continue with much more”.
“Well – observes Salvati – the ‘attentive’ organizers of the Thyrus inauguration practically sent everyone, except us. Forgetfulness, mistake or something else? We did not receive any invitations, communications, phone calls or carrier pigeons. Since I still enjoy the trust and esteem of all our members and our important sponsors, I believe that this statement of mine is a logical and justified consequence. At the same time, all this does not surprise me, just think that we made a request for a green area to be managed, identified, communicated through the documentation provided by the municipality of Terni, sent via certified e-mail for the first time in December. At the moment no response has been received other than that the PEC had never arrived (we have the receipt), postponed again to February. This one didn’t arrive either (we have the receipt)”.
Salvati’s reflections: “To overcome this mystery we personally took the documents to the protocol office of the municipality of Terni. It was way back in March 2024. Never having received a communication, we sent a subsequent PEC of waiver. Having said that, I communicate and take total responsibility that, from today Monday 17 June, all our activities will no longer accept any type of activity, pseudo proposals or any initiatives from the current institutions and those who represent them. Tired, nauseated by so much indifference, ingratitude and little consideration received, which we believe to be unmotivated. We will continue in our total commitment – he concludes – concrete, tangible for and on our territory, with only and exclusively as up to now with our forces and economic resources”.
