35040 is the postal code of Villa Estense (PD), birthplace of the family where the parents of director Alessandro Businaro have lived and continue to live for almost 60 years. From here begins a study on the inevitable subjective vision of the world around us. Each spectator will hear a different testimony of episodes and places from the past and will be able to connect it independently, according to their own point of view.

Asti Theatre continues at 9.30pm at the Kor space, with “A little gossip never killed anyone”, winner of sparks award 2023

Direction, sets and lights Francesca Caprioli, with Chiara Arrigoni, Giulia Gallone, Ottavia Orticello; costumes Paola Arcuria and Francesca Caprioli. Le Ore Picccole project

The protagonists are three workers: Klara, the aspiring leader, Agnese, the lazy mediator, and Martha, the new one. Factory work is exhausting, especially for women, even letting your hair down during working hours is a transgressive act strictly prohibited and it seems impossible to dream of anything more. One day, however, something happens: Martha begins a clandestine relationship with their boss and, from that moment, the three women begin to achieve small improvements at work, guided by Klara’s dream of a rebellion against the system. As they obtain more and more from a previously hostile reality that Martha, advised by Klara, seems able to bend to her liking, the three women push themselves to desire less and less harmless, more and more forbidden things.

The text is inspired by the fairy tale model: a closed world in which the supernatural seems to enter reality and desire is an ambiguous force, which pushes human beings to cross a forbidden border and, then, to pay a price that is too high. The fairy tale is the container in which, however, instances of our time move: Klara, Agnes and Martha are three contemporary women, three workers forced into exhausting work that suffocates the hope of the future and the dimension of desire, they live in a where their bodies are labor force, and they are controlled. The three women, together, experience the euphoria of planning redemption – personal and collective – and, for better or for worse, discover that they have the power to change reality. A little gossip never killed nobody is, in fact, a dark fairy tale about the power of the word, so powerful that it can push you to imagine, desire, manipulate, obey, subvert the world around you.

Semicolon

Photographic exhibition on the topic of eating disorders curated by Sara Castiglionthe

A reflection not so much on the suffering of the body, but rather on the anguish over food, which becomes an obsessive thought, invading the mind and every area of life. The treatment process is long and complex, but it does heal. After a traumatic and profound experience, such as going through an eating disorder, it is not possible to make a point: it is in fact necessary to carry with you the teachings of the experience you have lived. And not even a simple comma, because with healing a new chapter begins.

And then: semicolon.
