Food! Food! Food!”. The cry of joy from the “Black” team of Vittorino da Feltre goes up loudly, a prophet in their homeland for a triumph with a special flavour. The red and white bearers thus won the 42nd edition of the National Vittorino da Feltre Trophy, an important competitive swimming event organized by the Piacenza Rowing Society and which took place this weekend.

It must be said that it was not easy given the fierce competition: this year over a thousand athletes showed up at the starting blocks for a total of 2,700 competing athletes representing 38 swimming clubs from, as well as from Emilia Romagna, from Lombardy, Liguria, Veneto, Piedmont, Tuscany and Marche. The two days of competitions, under the direction of coach Gianni Ponzanibbio, issued the most beautiful verdict yesterday afternoon: the “Black” team of Vittorino raised the cup to the sky with 367.50 individual points, in second place was the DDS of Settimo Milanese (MI) with 362, third is Sporting Club 63 Azzurro of Mozzate (CO). Also awarded were the fourth-placed Aquaclub Gialla of Grumello del Monte (BG) with 304 points, the fifth-placed Centro Nuoto Le Bandie A of Spresiano (TV) and the Phoenix Oro of Solbiate Olona (VA), the latter with the privilege of receiving the plaque from the champions Giacomo Carini and Emanuele Merisi. Vittorino also awarded two other important prizes. The first is the “Angelo Alborghetti Memorial”, now in its twenty-eighth edition in honor of the former provincial delegate of the Federnuoto in the Beginners B category: Ornella, Alborghetti’s wife and his son Andrea handed it over to the CS Roero team ” Curtis” of Sommariva Perno (CN) first with 220 individual points, second is the Sporting Club 63 Azzurro with 150, third is Cloromania of Mantua with 110. The second is the “Memorial Alberto Corti”, the twelfth edition of the recognition to a judge chosen by the race officials group from the province of Piacenza, won by Barbara Gambazza who received it from Simona Corti, Alberto’s daughter.
