In Bologna’s mirabilis year, which culminated with the historic qualification for the Champions League, the echo of this feat and its repercussions reach provincial football.
To be precise, among the Over 35 Amateurs in a team, Domo Maccaretolo, which has a link with the rossoblu that they were and are today. Two names, Fabrizio Pasi and Leonardo Ravaglia.
Or rather two surnames, which the coach of this team that plays in San Pietro in Casale and its goalkeeper share respectively with his brother Riccardo who wore the rossoblu on several occasions between 2010 and 2014 (after the youth team ) and his son Federico, among the absolute protagonists of Thiago Motta’s boys.
Both raised their Champions League, triumphing in the final of the Uisp Ferrara Super League played in the prestigious setting of Paolo Mazza.
A great satisfaction for the boys, at least in spirit, from Mister Pasi who for once saw his brother give him the necessary applause for the sweet end of the season.
Dad Ravaglia, on the other hand, did not save penalties, emulating his son because he had been out of action for a few months, but he still participated in the season’s epilogue which he contributed to reaching by defending the Domo posts in the first part of the year.
Continuing the parallelism with Bologna’s progress, here too it was the group that made the difference and Mr. Pasi is keen to underline this.
“The team is the result of the merger of two teams that played in the championships of Bologna and Ferrara. After a first part in chiaroscuro we found the right team and in the Serie B championship there was consecration.
The difference was made by the group, 26 teammates on and off the pitch who experienced the perfect match, the one that everyone who plays football would like to play. I thank everyone, the club, the staff and the fans who supported us throughout the season.”
And it worked, 3-0 on the pitch against Veloce Contrapó (Serra, Arrichiello, Braghiroli) and a big celebration in the stands with families and friends, including Riccardo Pasi, who arrived from San Pietro in Casale.
There won’t be an open-top bus waiting for them, but it will certainly be a story worth telling for a long time.
