Rimini, 17 June 2024 – He didn’t get away with it serial robber of the Viserba seafront. The bandit, turned out to be a 48 year old of Sicilian originsit was finally stopped in recent days by the police coordinated by the Rimini Prosecutor’s Office, which now accuses him of serious crimes four hits scored between Viserba and Viserbella in fact, all accomplished between May 19th and June 9th.
A series of violent robberies that the 48-year-old, defended by lawyers Thomas Coppola and Mirko Damasco, according to the accusations, would have implemented the same criminal method. In fact, in all the cases charged to him, the 48-year-old is accused of having first cut off his victims’ path with the bicycle on which he used to travel, in order to prevent their escape. And then, taking one out of his pocket toy gunthe 48-year-old allegedly threatened them by ordering them to hand over various personal effects to him: mostly cell phones, wallets and bags.
According to investigations conducted by the police, the first shot thus accomplished by man it would have occurred on May 19th last, when the suspect had blocked a woman by cutting her off on her bicycle and then ordered her: “Give me everything or I’ll shoot you in the head”, pointing the toy weapon at her. That’s how it was done hand over the victim’s wallet, house keys and cell phone.
The 48-year-old also followed up on this first shot on May 30thwhen with the same approach he managed to get your hands on another cell phone and wallet this time of a man who was riding his bike along the seafront in the middle of the night. In fact, the robberies all took place between 10pm and 1am.
Four shots, however, they were enough to provide the police with all the elements necessary to trace the 48-year-old as the perpetrator of the serial shots, identified thanks also to particular chromatic details of the bicycle used to carry out robberies.
The Carabinieri tracked down the vehicle and identified the 48-year-old in a bar from where he was followed to his home and compared – with the help of surveillance cameras – with the person who had carried out the violent robberies. A scrupulous investigative activity which finally led to the arrest of the 48-year-old now under investigation for the crime of aggravated robbery.
The man is found now in prison at the ‘Casetti’ where the hearing to validate the arrest was held on Saturday, during which the 48-year-old admitted what he was accused of and explained to the investigating judge that he had acted because he was driven by his drug addiction.
