PESCARA. They arrived in the late afternoon, coloring Piazza Salotto, arranging themselves in a particular but very significant way: the Ferrari Testarossas, protagonists of the rally for the forty years since the creation of the most iconic and famous model of the Maranello car manufacturer, parked in the heart of Pescara, forming a 4 or a 0. The event is part of the program of initiatives linked to the centenary of the Acerbo Cup, which will be celebrated on July 13th. The Reds rally was organized by Fabio Di Pasquale, president of the Old Motors club of Abruzzo. «It is the first Testarossa rally organized in Italy for the 40th anniversary», said Di Pasquale, «and we are proud to have brought it to Pescara in this special year in which a century of Coppa Acerbo is celebrated. We have, among the guests, the designer Pietro Camardella, who signed the restyling of the Testarossa by designing the 512TR model. Following the fifteen models who arrived in the city there is also a blogger and “supercar influencer” specialized in Ferrari events, Anna Maria Catalanofollowed by thousands and thousands of followers.”
This morning the Testarossas will greet the protagonists of the conference “The beautiful tale of the Pescara circuit” at the Aurum and then they will turn on the 25 kilometer track which was the track of the Coppa Acerbo from 1924 to 1961. Afterwards, the Ferraris will move towards the the Vestina area, Loreto Aprutino and Penne, to go up to Rigopiano and then move to the L’Aquila area, to Santo Stefano di Sessanio and Ofena.
The conference will be moderated by a sports journalist specialized in Ferrari events, Michele Mambelli. Also among the speakers Francesco Nuvolari, architect and son of a cousin of the motoring hero Tazio, who participated in the Coppa Acerbo on more than one occasion, without ever managing to win it. In his speech he will talk about “Abruzzo, a land of myths, heroes, poets and pilots”. He will speak, among others, Enzo Fimiani to talk about “Giacomo Acerbo, tradition and avant-garde, modernity and worldliness”.
