Busto Arsizio – Don Maurizio leaves the parish of SS. Apostles of Don Paolo after 13 years – Dea Notizie

Formally during the evening and Sunday masses of 15 and 16 June 2024 some representatives of the pastoral councils of the Church of SS. Apostles Peter and Paul and of Sant’Anna have announced the transfer of the Parish Priest: the enterprising Don Maurizio Bianchi.
He has been a priest since 12 June 1993, and his vocational experience began in the parish of Abbiategrasso where he received the Christian sacraments and was initiated into the vocational journey by his parish priest, among other things originally from Busto Arsizio.
For seven years and until 1 September 2011 he was Vicar of the community of Saints Cornelius and Cyprian of Cerro Maggiore, since 2011 he was appointed Vicar of the Pastoral Community “S. Benedetto” in Busto Arsizio (made up of the parishes of S. Anna and Santi App. Pietro e Paolo) of which Don Giuseppe Alloisio was responsible from 1 November 2009, taking over from Don Francesco Colino on 4 September 2009. From 1 September 2009 to 1 September 2011 Don Roberto Rigo was appointed vicar.
On 1 February 2012 Don Maurizio Bianchi became Parish Priest of the Parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, in fact from 1 January 2023 (formally from 10 January 2023) he was Administrator of the Parish of S. Anna in Busto Arsizio of which he became Parish Priest on 2 March 2023.
From 2021 there is talk of transfers in the air even if paradoxically new roles are given to him. Formally, the transfer, of which the pastoral and economic affairs councils of the two parishes led by the Priest were aware, was made known with a letter dated 14 June 2024 from the vicar bishop of the area Monsignor Luca Raimondi.
The letter is addressed to the faithful of the parishes of SS Apostoli and S. Anna in Busto Arsizio, it highlights the communication from Archbishop Monsignor Mario Delpini which concerns the two parishes that share a single pastoral path.
And he continues: “From next September your parish priest Don Maurizio Bianchi will leave your communities to become parish priest of the pastoral unit between the parishes of Rosate and Bubbiano, in the deanery of Abbiategrasso. I am grateful to Don Maurizio for the ministry carried out among you, for many years at the SS Apostles and recently at S. Anna, as parish priest of pastoral unity. I also thank him for this new availability to the Bishop’s call.
Your new parish priest, both of the Holy Apostles and of S. Anna, will be Don Stefano Rho, born in Milan in 1965 and became a priest in 1990; he is currently parish priest in Bubbiano (in one of the parishes that will be entrusted to Don Maurizio!).
I invite you to pray for those who leave and those who arrive, knowing that just as you will be able to greet and thank Don Maurizio, so you will be able to welcome Don Stefano with enthusiasm. I am sure that with Don David, your parish vicar, you will all be available to be collaborators and co-responsible for the life of your parishes which are experiencing the effort to walk in unity”. The letter ends with the blessing of the Archbishop and Bishop Luca Raimondi.
Upon reading the letter, amidst the emotion, there was a loud applause of thanks for his ministry.
