PESCARA. «I promise you that I will continue to work tirelessly to make Pescara more and more beautiful, more modern, more sustainable, more welcoming, more colourful». Mayor Carlo Mascire-elected with 50.95% (31,535 votes), writes to the people of Pescara and announces another mandate under the banner of “courage to do”.
With the elections now behind us, even if the recount of votes requested by the center-left of Carlo Costantini, is still ongoing, the mayor says: «My heart is full of strength, hope and passion for the journey that awaits us. Together, we will build a Pescara that shines with pride and progress.” Masci has a two and a half year mandate ahead of him: the newly elected administration should remain in office until 1 January 2027 with the establishment of the merger between Pescara, Montesilvano and Spoltore. But will two and a half years be enough to create the city expanded to 190 thousand residents? Maybe. In the meantime, says the letter published on Masci’s Facebook page, “the time has come to express my gratitude”. After the victory in the first round against Costantini, Domenico Pettinari And Gianluca Fusillianother one after the one in 2019 against Marinella Sclocco, Masci says thanks «to the councilors and advisors who have accompanied me in these five difficult, intense, beautiful years; to the centre-right parties and candidates who have traveled alongside me in this month of the electoral campaign, who have contributed to this wonderful result, which saw me reach 51% of the votes with a gap of 18 points from the first of my opponents; to my dear friends, whose affection has accompanied me for many years, who have always given me their support even in the most difficult moments.”
Masci dedicates a thought to his children Angela And Fabio, on the front line during the electoral campaign until the embrace at the end of the counting: «My children are the backbone of my life, every time they fill me with unconditional love, they manage to face the difficult moments that we all go through always with spirit of those who look at the positivity of things”. And then the mayor speaks to the residents: thanks «to you citizens of Pescara, who have once again given me your full trust, this for me is the greatest honor I could receive, your support and your trust are the testimony of the love we share for our city.” (pl)
