“On 4 June in Abruzzo, workers in the transport sector of CGIL, CISL and UIL went on strike for four hours. A protest to which unions and workers resorted after years of appeals on safety and quality of services, which fell on deaf ears, to the Region and to the TUA company” declares Regional Councilor Dino Pepe.

“In recent days, the company’s decision to reduce services and jobs has made the situation even worse, particularly in the most penalized province so far: Teramo. The cancellation of the direct Giulianova-San Benedetto route is a sad example.

Damage to workers certainly, but also to all the citizens of our territory who helplessly witness reductions in travel and continuous inefficiencies” continues the Dem councilor.

“I wonder, as the union representatives also reasonably did, whether Marsilio and his competent councilor are aware of the inconveniences and damage that this state of affairs entails for the workers and for the Teramo area.

This province has already lost important services especially in the internal and earthquake-stricken areas, it has been refused the introduction of the single transport ticket, it is penalized in the assignment of mileage and mortified in its environmental policies by an increasingly poor public transport, in silence of those who represent it in the majority” concludes Pepe.
