The Ferrara Eagles snatch the ticket for the semi-final of the IFL 2 championship, at the end of a match against the Torino Reapers that had never been in question. The Este team prevailed 28-0 with an attack that, despite being in difficulty due to absences, was able to show off several excellent performances and a defense that played in an almost perfect manner, leaving their opponents with zero points, for the first time in the championship.

Full throttle start for the Eagles who, al guest kickoff, they respond with a perfect return by Cerullo who reaches the Turin end zone with his runningback. Cappellini, after two actions, scores on a run for the 6-0, to which Romagnoli adds the additional point of 7-0. The Reapers attack doesn’t move the ball and is forced to punt as are the Eagles on the following drive, but in the new Turin attack it is Bindini who intercepts the ball from 36 yards for the Reapers. A good run by Franco and a foul by the guests bring the Este offense back into the Reapers’ red zone.
Scaglia’s pass arrives slightly out of range but the Reapers’ attempted interception leaves the ball alive in the air, and it is the Este receiver Gardinale who takes advantage of it by recovering the oval and scoring for 13-0, to which Romagnoli promptly adds the transformation football. The Reapers try again at the end of the first quarter, but aintervention of the Este defense, first with Neodo and then with Mazzoni, extinguishes any ambitions of the guests by forcing them to make a new punt. In the second quarter they missed a precious opportunity to put the Eagles ahead, with Gardinale and Capitozzo unable to hold onto the ball in the end zone and with Romagnoli missing the next field goal attempt. Without further shocks we go to the break at 14-0.
Not a reassuring score, but even in the second half the Repaers were unable to worry coach Gordon’s defense, with Cerullo first intercepting the ball and with Motta then covering a Turin fumble while on the other side the Este attack stalled which gives an interception to the guests. We enter the last half of the game and the Eagles are intercepted again by the defense of the Reapers who, having gone on attack, with a nice trick play move close to the Estense end zone with the opportunity to score and reopen the game in the final . But, on an attempted pass, Bindini was not caught unprepared intercepts the oval and puts the attack back on the field Este with Scaglia, who doesn’t wait to be asked and serves Capitozzo for the 21-0 after Romagnoli’s conversion kick.
The gap has become unbridgeable for the guests, who also try to come forward again, but it is the Este defense that closes in style with Neodo who intercepts the ball thrown by the guest quarterback and brings the oval directly back into the end zone for the round 28-0 which closes the meeting. Celebration on the pitch for the Eagles at the final whistle with the Este team for the second consecutive year they reach the semifinals, expected by the Bengals Brescia next weekend in an away match that is worth access to the final in July. On the other side of the scoreboard, the Modena Vipers prevailed over the Padova Saints 16-14 at the end of a very tight match. In the semi-final they will face Pirates Savona to decide who will be the second finalist of the championship.
