The driver from Syracuse finished with a time of 9’16”80 and prevailed in a tight head-to-head battle with the super favorite Simone Faggioli, already winner of fourteen editions. At the finish line at the top of the Alpe di Trento, the Osella PA30 driver preceded the Tuscan champion by just 63 hundredths, relegating him to second place. A surprise that began to be felt as early as the timed trials on Saturday, in which the two contenders remained separated by a few fractions of a second, and which materialized on Sunday in Trentino. Achille Lombardi then settled on the third step of the podium, just over six seconds behind, while the first from Trentino was Diego Degasperi, who came fourth, just over eight seconds behind the winner. A show that experienced great spectacular moments, with an incredible duel that was resolved only at the final finish line, with centimeters and hundredths deciding the match. Victory, therefore, for Luigi Fazzino, the luxury debutant on the Bondone, while for the multi-titled Florentine Simone Faggioli, the appointment for the fifteenth seal will be necessarily postponed until next year.
