a young videomaker pays homage to his city

BRINDISI – The essence of Brindisi and the essence of Brindisi are condensed in 2.30 minutes. Published on Youtube just over two days ago, videomaker Francesco Iurlaro’s tribute to his city has already reached almost 10 thousand views. The video is titled “Brindisi – Filia Solis”.

The video opens with a fisherman in the middle of the sea. Fishing, boats, life in the fishing village are the common thread in an overview of the symbolic views of the capital. Even with the help of a drone, Iurlaro captured the capital of the Roman Column, the port, the church of San Benedetto, the temple of San Giovanni al Sepolcro, the Cathedral Basilica and various characteristic corners of the historic center.

Born 29 years ago, Iurlaro has always cultivated a passion for photography. In 2019 he began working as a videomaker. “I started with weddings – he says – and I collaborated with municipal administrations. I have always been passionate about finding a particular shot. I also like nature photography.” It is no coincidence that in the video you can see two dolphins filmed off the coast of Punta del Serrone, during a kayaking outing.

“I tried to tell the story of my city – explains Iurlaro – using the material collected in four years of filming. The assembly lasted 2-3 days.” And the response has been remarkable, as evidenced by the views on YouTube and the likes and shares that the video is generating on the author’s Facebook profile.
