There is less and less left until the new edition of mini basketball in the square in Matera. This morning new rosters arrived in the city of stones for the international youth trophy
Preparations are underway in Matera for the 32nd edition of “Minibasket in the square”. Also today the rosters that will be part of the international basketball trophy arrived in the city of Sassi.
This year the event returns, with the 48-team formula, as it was before the coronavirus pandemic, and with the participation after 14 years of a team from Caracas (Venezuela).
The trophy will be held from Sunday 16 June to Saturday 22 June in Matera and Nova Siri, in the Matera area, as well as Santeramo in Colle, Corato, Molfetta and Bitritto in the province of Bari.
The event is organized by Pielle Basket and includes the participation of young teams from Italy, but also from Venezuela, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Montenegro, Serbia, Libya, Lebanon, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Nigeria.
For the 2024 edition, the organizers are organizing the “3×3” tournament on Wednesday 19 June at Pala Lanera, which will promote friendship and inclusion between young athletes from different countries.
The final is scheduled for June 22nd in the central Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Last year the trophy was won by Motion Basketball of Toronto (Canada).
