Viterbo – Municipality – Alessandra Troncarelli (Pd) asks for clarification on why PromoTuscia is being removed from management and entrusted directly: “The tender could have been done”

Viterbo – Direct assignment of the municipal tourist office, via PromoTuscia which has been managing the service on behalf of the administration for years. But we don’t know why. Or at least, in answering the question of councilor Alessandra Troncarelli (Pd), mayor Chiara Frontini perhaps did not correctly interpret the intentions of her councilor for Economic Development, Silvio Franco, the answer that comes out is labile.

The new location, at Alfio’s house just inside Porta Faul and at the Lazzaretto, with a multi-year assignment, is one of the reasons that led, while awaiting the tender, from 1st July to move to a direct procedure to hand over the office to a new entity tourist. But it remains where it is, on the shelter. Because work is underway in the new destinations.
“Nothing prevented us from preparing the tender – insists Troncarelli – also taking into account that management is different from location. So much so that for now it remains where it is.”
For Troncarelli, there is a risk of losing a heritage built over the years. “The company has managed the office under various administrations, there is a precious treasure of work done to promote the city and the entire territory. It must be maintained and enhanced.”
The administration’s idea, as explained by the mayor Frontini, is to make the shelter an island of biodiversity. “While for tourists we will have the office at the Lazzaretto and the checkpoint at Porta Faul, where it will be possible to obtain initial information, or leave the suitcases which will then be taken to the hotel”.
On the stop to PromoTuscia, Frontini also calls into question the procurement code. “There is the sacrosanct principle of rotation – observes the mayor – who will receive the tourist office and in what ways it is not up to me to establish it, but to the offices”.
Councilor Alessandra Croci (Viterbo 2020) does not help to clarify the matter, taking the floor and taking advantage of it. Instead of answering the merits of the question, she delves into a long list of thanks and explanations on what has been carried out in the tourism and road sectors. Fracigena. But also the Jubilee is upon us.
All very interesting, but also very off topic, so much so that the Prime Minister Marco Ciorba, after a more than considerable period of tolerance, took her away from speaking.
“I’m sorry – comments Troncarelli – that councilor Croci has to wait for my question to tell her what she is doing. We appreciate the human aspect in what you carry out, it’s a shame that you need a question from me to take the floor”.
