On the occasion of World Refugee Day, the photographic exhibition Along the border by Chiara Fabbro, a young documentary photographer who has won prestigious international awards for her human rights reportages, opens in Ravenna on June 2024.
From Thursday, June 20, on the occasion of World Refugee Dayto Saturday, July 2024, the exhibition spaces of Rasponi Palace2 (PR2) in Ravenna will present the exhibition Along the Border by Chiara Fabbroto young Italian documentary photographer now living in London who has won prestigious international awards for her human rights reporting.
Her work has taken her to the abandoned buildings of the Balkans, where migrants remain stranded in their attempt to reach Europe; to the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where fugitives from conflict and persecution live in limbo; to the beaches of the Canary Islandswhere thousands of people each year brave the Atlantic Ocean in what is arguably considered one of the world’s most dangerous migratory journeys.
In this exhibition, Chiara Fabbro captures with deep humanity the current reality along the Balkan routehighlighting collective and chain rejections, precarious living conditions, and dramatic tales of constant danger.
The exhibition is part of the Festival of Culturesoffering food for thought on how the protection of human rights is changing on the eastern borders of the European Union.
The exhibition is open to the public daily from 10 am to 1 pm and 3 to 7 pm Free admission.
