“In the three month/three year period in 2007 with the Democratic Party the waiting lists were 72%, in 2023 they were 25%. For 2024 the data is being processed, applications expired on 10 June. Let’s start from the data, which is not definitive at the moment: from 2 to 6 years in all likelihood this year too we should have a zero waiting list, from 3 to 24 months we should respond to over 70% of families. Furthermore, other places available in the 3-24 month range are being prepared both in municipal schools and thanks to affiliated private schools and to understand this it was enough to read the documents of the new interventions in public works to realize that new investments are underway. This is where the data ends, the real ones. Finally, the evaluations: in 2007 the PD boasted to its then Deputy Mayor that it was responding to 28% of families in the 3 month/3 year segment, with a clear waiting list of 72% and it is enough to look for the press review of the time to have information. Unfortunately, the internet leaves no escape for the forgetful and politics leaves no escape for the approximate: to have the definitive data it will be necessary – for the 3/6 year age group – to wait until the end of August when families’ options between municipal and state offers will be definitive, for the 3 month 12 month range, the data is being processed now because applications could be received until June 10th, for the 1 year/three year range the options are being processed and we have already reached over 75% of the responses. In September the data will be definitive and will be no less good than 2023 and certainly better than the terrible 2007 where those who give lessons today gave answers to 28% of families: it is impossible to do worse than then”.
