«Good result thanks to teamwork»

Expresses satisfaction for the success of G7 the police commissioner of Brindisi, Giampietro Lionetti. “She was an extraordinary professional experience because we brought together all the police forces, we brought together all the armed forces, we worked together and there was a good result”, he told Ansa.

Lionetti underlines that «the police chief made me available the best colleagues I could have and this was certainly an important element in realizing this very complicated event.”

The G7, which involved for three days Borgo Egnazia And Toasts for the summits between the heads of state and government and the dinner offered by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in the Castello Svevo of the Messapian capital, but also other municipalities such as Grottaglie and Martina Franca in the Tarantino area or Alberobello, visited by first ladiesbut also Bari where it was set up media centre in Levante Fair. «It was carried out in a vast territory, with structures up to fifty kilometers away from each other. Therefore – highlights the police commissioner of Brindisi – we were very good and the credit goes to everyone: to the prefect who set up the committees in which we participated, myself first and foremost as a public security authority, but also to my colleagues in the Carabinieri and the financial police, and to the armed forces.”

The commissioner then underlined the importance of Joint operations room «who brought together the characteristics of each one and the results were visible. An important safety system was created in compliance with the rules and citizens. It is clear – the commissioner highlighted – that the citizens suffered something. We have also communicated on several occasions that we would carry out this activity and we have not had any protests from the citizens, they too have done a lot, as have the institutions of this province: I am referring to the president of the Province, the mayor of Brindisi and to the mayor of Fasano”.

The leaders, states Lionetti, «have all left, they have all left. No one had any problems and we are very satisfied».

The demonstrations: «Ugly posters in Fasano, but the summit took place without clashes»

Coming to the organized events against the G7, Lionetti explains that «yesterday it was bad to see these posters, these flyers stuck on a wall. But it’s also true that it was a summit in which there was no clashthere were no street clashes, we had no problems with public order and safety.”

Yesterday some participants in the protest march in Fasano posted up a photo of Prime Minister Meloni upside down and others from the G7 leaders stained red on their faces as if they were stained with blood.

«With our colleagues – he added – we carried out an information activity but also a communication activity, especially with those areas that disagree with the policies of the G7: we naturally allowed them to demonstrate, as required by the Constitution, but at the same time through dialogue we managed to make him understand that there was no need to disturb public order. And I must say that the effect was visible, because absolutely nothing happened. Yesterday’s demonstration – he concluded – was well organised, it had various areas of the antagonistic left that participated, various elements of these areas of the far left, but they did not create any problems”.
