The arrival of Maverick Viñales in KTM frees up a place in the Noale team: the VR46 centaur is a viable candidate.
Never like this year has the MotoGP been crossed, and continues to be, by so many rumors and market negotiations surrounding the riders who are about to say goodbye to their current team. The fuse has been involuntarily lit since the announcement made last October of Marc Marquez’s arrival in one of Ducati’s satellite teams, Gresini Racing.
In fact, it was immediately rumored that, if the Spaniard had proved competitive with a non-latest evolution bike like the Desmosedici GP2023 which he would then have brilliantly ridden on the track, he would have paid cash to the parent company for a landing in Factory. No sooner said than done.
Cabroncito convinced everyone. Perhaps even sooner than one might have imagined. Ducati has been leafing through the daisies on the decision to make for several months in view of 2025. Who to choose between Jorge Martìn, world championship leader riding for Prima Pramac Racing and Marc Marquez, the eight-time world champion, as Pecco Bagnaia’s teammate in Lenovo?
After refusing to be included in the team that already belonged to Martìn – with the Madrid native who at that point would have joined Pecco – and after having declined a rich offer from KTM – the Austrian company also heavily courted Martìn – Marquez was announced as a rider official Ducati. The domino effect involved several other centaurs in cascade.
Revolution in the driver fleet, the Rimini native is a candidate
Thus it was that, in rapid succession, the world championship leader was announced as an Aprilia rider – in truth the Noale company even anticipated the announcement of Marquez in Ducati -. Then it was the turn of Maverick Viñales and Enea Bastianini, Pecco’s current partner, to be presented as new riders of the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team.
However, Viñales’ farewell to Aprilia left one place uncovered. A void that could be filled by a member of Valentino Rossi’s Team VR46. This is Marco Bezzecchi, the 26-year-old rider from Rimini who achieved a podium in the Jerez de La Frontera race. One of those that saw Bagnaia and Marquez battle on the track.
For many, the future dominators of the race for the world championship in the next two years. Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing, has never hidden his desire to bring an Italian rider onto the RS-GP. The choice could therefore fall on Bezzecchi himself. Or about Fabio Di Giannantonio, currently his teammate on the Ducati VR46 Team.
