Taranto: Cisl Fp, losing the Pnrr nursery school funds means giving up the future of the territory

A community like the one in Taranto needs concrete answers also and above all in early childhood education. The CISL FP is currently engaged on two fronts, that of the re-evaluation of educational personnel and that of finding externally financed resources to increase and improve the services offered.

Fabio Ligonzo, secretary of the CISL FP of the Municipality of Taranto, had underlined, a month ago, the importance of accessing the funding amounting to 5,184,000 million euros made available by the new Pnrr tender published on 30 April, and the activation of a further 216 places in nursery schools in our area.

The aim was to reach the European target of 33% relating to early childhood services, bridging the gap that currently exists for both the 0-3 and 3-6 age groups, recognizing the right to education for girls and boys. from birth and guaranteeing a unified educational path suited to the characteristics and training needs of that age group, also thanks to innovative learning spaces and environments.

We learn with amazement, from the councilor of the branch, that in Taranto with the structures provided for by adhering to the first tender, we will reach the LEP. So was the Ministry of Education and Merit wrong in assigning further additional resources and additional places to the city of Taranto, the first city in Puglia? So the state accountancy didn’t know and didn’t monitor the financing situation for Taranto?

We complain about the lack of attention paid to our community and then, when there are important resources to intercept, we withdraw, without understanding the purpose of these interventions.
“This is one of those opportunities,” concludes Ligonzo, “that we shouldn’t have missed! As always, there was a lack of discussion, to which the CISL FP places extreme attention and priority. “

Round table with the CGIL-CISL-UIL confederation on the PNRR, this is one of the issues we should have talked about.
It deprives local children of educational opportunities, the fewer kindergartens we have and the less children grow
A city that is depopulating, if we don’t provide services, young people are fleeing and one woman in five, when she finds work, has to leave her job because with her first child

A community like the one in Taranto needs concrete answers also and above all in the field of early childhood education. The CISL FP is currently engaged on two fronts, that of the re-evaluation of the educational staff and that of finding externally financed resources to increase and improve the services offered.

Fabio Ligonzo Secretary of the CISL FP of the Municipality of Taranto had underlined, a month ago, the importance of accessing the funding amounting to 5,184,000 million euros made available by the new PNRR tender published on 30 April last, and the activation of a further 216 places in nursery schools in our area.

The aim was to reach the European objective of 33% relating to early childhood services (Taranto is at 16.1%), filling the gap that currently exists for both the 0-3 and the 3-6 year age groups, recognizing girls and boys have the right to education from birth and guaranteeing a unitary educational path suited to the characteristics and training needs of that age group, also thanks to innovative learning spaces and environments.

The lack of adequate facilities for children represents a significant barrier for many women, especially those wishing to maintain or re-enter the workforce after motherhood. The data speaks clearly: one in five women in Italy is out of the job market.

The expansion of nursery schools, as hoped by Ligonzo, would have offered concrete support to these women, allowing them to more easily reconcile work and family needs. This, in turn, would have had a positive impact on the economy, increasing the female workforce and promoting women’s professional growth.
Regarding these issues, the union questions itself on a daily basis, trying to provide concrete solutions without triggering controversy.

However, the Ministry of Education and Merit had foreseen the disbursement of large sums of money for Taranto, the first city in Puglia, which we absolutely should not have missed. For CISL FP, this opportunity represents a fundamental strategic choice for the territory. As always, there was a lack of discussion, to which the union places extreme attention and priority. “
