Brescia, rent eats up a third of your salary

Brescia. Rent ballasts salaries. Between 2018 and 2023, the average weight of the rent on employee income in the provincial capitals went from 31.6% to 35.2 percent. Exceeding 40% in six cities, from Florence (46.5%) to Bologna (40.2%).
The data refers to the new free-fee contracts registered each year with the Revenue, as reported by an analysis by The sun 24 hours. The fees for the agreed channel are also growing, the weight of which on income has risen from 27.5 to 29% in the last five years, with 15 capitals above 30%.

The impact of the average rent on declared income from work employee in the new ordinary long-term and agreed-fee contracts stipulated sees a different situation in Brescia. The 2023 data reported by the economic newspaper refers to 2022 incomes compared with 2018
In Brescia, 3,915 new contracts were signed with an average monthly rent of 559 euros (rentals 4 +4) which on average affect a worker’s salary by 27.3%, with a percentage increase compared to 2018 of 3.5%.
As regards the agreed rents the average monthly expense is 477 euros, with an impact of 23.3% on revenue of a worker and a increase of 1.4% compared to five years earlier. The type of rent agreed on the total rental contracts is 20.6%, with a variation of −7.6% compared to 2018.

In general, new rentals have risen more than the general price index (which also incorporates the effect of high energy costs). Also due to the rush for short-term rentals and the recovery in demand from university students in the post-Covid period.
