200 titles, divided by languages and countries, to promote the reading and art of comics among young people.
The spaces of the Quartieri Spagnoli Foundation in Naples will host the first International Comics Library, created thanks to the donation of the Drosselmeier Academy.
The latest Italian, French, English and Spanish news, as well as Korean, Japanese and Taiwanese classics can be consulted. The library will first of all offer children the possibility of accessing a vast heritage of comics of different genres and origins, often not easily available in shops.
This will allow you to discover new authors, delve deeper into already loved genres and broaden your knowledge of the world of comics. The completely free consultation activity of the comics medium will be accompanied by series of meetings, reading events, book clubs, writing and drawing workshops, with the presence of artists and professionals in the sector.
“The main objective of the library is to provide children with a unique opportunity to discover and appreciate the world of comics,” explained Rachele Furfaro, president of the Quartieri Spagnoli Foundation. “Reading comics from an early age can significantly contribute to the development of reading skills, stimulating imagination and creativity.”
