Cesena’s dream only stopped in the final

It is often said that the second is the first of the last, but in the case of the spectacular veterans of Cesena Volley +56 the silver medal is a result of absolute prestige. The Romagna team surrendered yesterday only at the end of the Volleyball World Cup final for the Over 56s, an adventure that made people in Milan dream for a long time. Hungary prevailed, despite the Cesena experts making their Hungarian opponents suffer on more than one occasion.

A few days ago the team was received by the municipal administration. In particular, it concerns a delegation made up of the coach Gabriele Gozi, the deputy Luigi Pedrelli and the players Graziano Zaghi, Roberto Stella, Beppe Saragoni, Raffaello Ricciotti, Daniele Muccioli, Maurizio Graziani, Paolo and Sandro De Angeli, Enrico Biguzzi, Tarquinio Battistini, Nicola Battistini, Oscar Mazzotti, Raffaele Franzoni, Danilo Mastrocinque. The IVVA final is confirmation of the excellent work done so far. Thirty participating nations, around a thousand athletes on the field and four sports facilities and arenas involved: these are the numbers that revolve around the IVVA “Veteran Volleyball Tournaments-Age is no limit” which this year, for the first time, took place held in Italy, in Milan.

Promoted by IVVA – Veteran Volleyball Association, the association chaired by Adam and Přemysl Kubala which brings together amateur and former professional players who make volleyball and sport a philosophy of life, and IBLOCK BVC Beach Volley Club Milano (local host), the tournament it attracted thousands of athletes from all over the world.
