After hours of anguish with the prefecture which immediately activated the search plan for missing persons and various areas of the Tuscan capital searched inch by inch, the discovery in Rome. Thus ended the adventure of two Chinese cousins aged 6 and 18 who disappeared on Friday 14 June in Piagge, a suburban neighborhood of Florence.
Ada Ada and Mina Jiajia Wu had reached the capital – the Esquilino neighborhood to be precise – after leaving on a 9.50pm train that left Florence station and arrived at Rome Termini. They had moved away from their grandmother’s house in the Peretola area of Florence when the latter was absent. For 24 hours they were searched by the police with the help of volunteers from the metropolitan city.
The eldest is 18 years old, Ada, while lthe smallest one has 6, Wu Mina Jiajia. The parents had raised the alarm and the Prefecture had activated the emergency plan for missing persons. When they were found they were both in good health.
These are the words of a relative who reconstructed the hours preceding what looked like a voluntary removal: “Ada left the house around 6pm after her grandmother left. There was no discussion between them. Ada came out carrying a red trolley with some of her clothes inside. She has no cell phone, cash or even identity documents.”
The adult girl: A pair of girls’ shoes were missing from the house. The two would have been noticed by a person to whom they would have confided that they had escaped because they were “abused in the family” even though, Investigators are working on the reconstruction of this escape.
