“Viareggio and the Versilia that I would like between past and future”: the The Rotary club Viareggio Versilia with the Department of Energy, Systems, Territory and Construction Engineering of the University of Pisa announces the third edition of the competition for the assignment of a prize for the best master’s thesis in Building Engineering – Architecture or in Civil Infrastructure and Environmental Engineering or in Structural and Building Engineering from the University of Pisa.
The subject of the theses must concern interventions aimed at enhancing the territory of Versilia, in the areas of recovery/restoration of existing heritage, architectural and urban planning, infrastructure, landscape architecture and territorial planning. The citizens of Versilia are invited to propose ideas to have the Versilia that I would like between the past and the future, with ideas that concern the recovery of old structures or the creation of new projects. Ideas can be entered by filling out the form available on the site open until 15 July. In the 2021 edition, the thesis “Urban regeneration of the Viareggio Waterfront” was awarded. In this new edition of the competition, awards ceremony between May and June 2025, something new has been introduced: giving the citizens of Versilia the opportunity to propose project ideas on which the engineering graduates of the University of Pisa will be able to work starting from July to propose them as a degree thesis and apply for them in 2025. The works will be displayed in an exhibition and seen by citizens, giving satisfaction to the graduating students and citizens who will see some of the proposed ideas implemented at a project level.
