The institutions remember Frabboni

A public ceremony in memory of Franco Frabboni (left), one month after his death. The Municipality of Bologna, the Metropolitan City and the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna have decided to pay homage to the emeritus professor in this way. They will do it tomorrow, at 4.30 pm, in the Farnese Chapel of Palazzo D’Accursio, in Piazza Maggiore. On this occasion, in addition to the institutional greetings from the various representatives of the institutions, there will also be colleagues from the university who will speak to dedicate some moments to him. There will also be space for other people encountered by Frabboni in his professional career, including studies and research in pedagogy. The family members of the pioneer professor of Italian pedagogy and professor emeritus of the University of Bologna will also be present at the ceremony. In May, shortly before his death, he had turned 89. Former president of the Italian Society of Pedagogy and dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, his studies and research have mainly been aimed at the analysis of the theoretical and empirical foundations of Educational Sciences. A cultural profile that has always fought for modern teaching, and in the last part of his career, even with newspaper articles and publications, he openly addressed the issues of school, with an original and proactive attitude.
