Dozens of farmers will come from the valleys, from Franciacorta, from Sebino, from Garda and from Bassa with the provincial president Laura Facchetti together with the president of the regional Coldiretti Gianfranco Comincioli, will present themselves before the regional leaders to denounce aemergency out of control which is causing problems health, social, economic and environmental. “The situation in Brescia is equivalent to that of many Italian territories – explains Laura Facchetti – The phenomenon has become uncontainable. It is necessary to intervene and move towards a number that is sustainable for agricultural and human activities. Simple containment is not enough”. Facchetti refers to fields, vineyards and olive groves damaged with incalculable damage, but also at the risk of diseases such as swine fever. “If our farms had even just one nearby case of wild boar with swine fever they would have enormous problems, including blocking exports – he explains – not to mention everything that is foreseen. Wild boars must be killed. In the Region we will ask them to implement an extraordinary containment plan authorized by article 19 ter of law 157 of 1992. We would like to extend the possibility of hunting for longer periods than the current ones, but also give farmers the possibility of self-defense using specialized personnel. We are also fighting to reduce the number of other wild animals, such as mini hares and otters.”
