Husband beaten to death, woman arrested, removed from home and “warned” – Alto Adige – Südtirol

BOLZANO. A forty-year-old woman from Bolzano was arrested by police headquarters staff for domestic violence. A Volanti patrol was called the other evening to urgently intervene in the Oltrisarco neighbourhood, following a report made by a citizen of a violent domestic dispute between a woman and a man.

After knocking insistently, the front door of the apartment was opened with difficulty by a man with a face covered in blood, scratches, bruises, with a bleeding dental arch and missing some teeth, and still holding on to his behind his wife who was hitting him violently. The policemen freed the man with great difficulty.

An examination of the Interior Ministry database revealed that this was not the first intervention of its kind. After calling for the ambulance and medical workers, considering the severity of the injuries suffered, the man – a craftsman the same age as his wife – was transported to the emergency room and then admitted to the San Maurizio hospital with a 30-day prognosis.

The woman was arrested and the police commissioner Paolo Sartori issued a warning. According to Sartori, this case “strengthens even further the idea of how the critical situations that afflict our society must necessarily be addressed by networking between institutions, local authorities, anti-violence centers and voluntary associations.

The State Police has always been at the forefront, even with specific projects, in indicating paths of awareness and awareness of the negative value of what has been committed, with the aim, also, of helping victims to defend themselves, to ask for help and to report the violence suffered”.
