Talos Festival 2024 edition returns from 5 to 8 September with a program of which two events have currently been announced which kick off the wait for the most well-known musical event in Ruvo di Puglia.
International evening on Friday 6 September with the national exclusive special project which sees Erlend Øye & La Comitiva perform for the occasion with the Banda Talos Città di Ruvo di Puglia, directed by maestro Rino Campanale. An unprecedented performance with the quartet led by Erlend Øye, well-known musician and member of the Kings of Convenience duo, in a show that will combine indie sounds and band tradition.
On Saturday 7 September Daniele Silvestri will be on stage with the show “Il cantastorie recidivo” which brings to the stage a selection of his most loved songs and some new compositions, in a tale of stories in music steeped in poetry and social commitment. Both events will take place in the evocative setting of Piazzetta Le Monache.

This year too we want to propose an innovative and multidisciplinary edition of the Talos Festival in the name of experimentation, proposing original productions and interesting artistic projects, which keep in mind the current musical scenario. The two evenings of 6 and 7 September represent only a part of the programming currently being defined, to which other musical events and dance projects will be added under the direction of Giulio De Leo and the Menhir Company for a wide-ranging programme, open to different contaminations. Furthermore, a special live performance of music and dance is planned in the outdoor space of the Jatta National Museum, which, during the weekend, will be open on an extraordinary basis until midnight.
Talos Festival 2024 is a project promoted by the Municipality of Ruvo di Puglia, directed and organized in partnership with Bass Culture srl, co-financed by the Puglia Region in agreement with the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese.
September 6, 2024 – Erlend Øye & La Comitiva with the Talos Band
The Talos Festival 2024 sees a one-of-a-kind national premiere artistic collaboration. An exclusive project that sees the quartet led by Erlend Øye (Kings of Convenience, Whitest Boy Alive) in a special performance orchestrated for the occasion for the Banda Talos Città di Ruvo di Puglia.
In January 2018 Erlend Øye (Kings of Convenience, Whitest Boy Alive) decided to invite his friend Stefano Ortisi from Syracuse to accompany him on piano and sax for his upcoming solo tour in South America. Luigi Orofino (cavaquinho) and Marco Castello (guitar and trumpet) also took the opportunity, jumping on what was expected to be a simple journey and which instead will give life to the Sicilian acoustic project La Comitiva.
Since then the new formation has accompanied the Norwegian singer around the world, offering original songs as well as reinterpretations of his signature songs.
Talos Band City of Ruvo di Puglia
Made up of around 50 members aged between 15 and 50, the Banda Talos Città di Ruvo di Puglia sees students from musical high schools and conservatoires playing alongside teachers, already graduated musicians and professionals. This band is the arrival point of a participatory and shared path started in the winter of 2022 by the municipal administration, specifically by the Councilor for Culture Monica Filograno, with the intention of offering a training opportunity to a category of young people musicians who within the festival and especially in the next editions will be able to experience meeting professionals and guest musicians of international importance. For Talos 2023 the musical project Pangea, created by the Salento artist Carolina Bubbico, was orchestrated for the Banda Talos Città di Ruvo di Puglia, directed by maestro Vincenzo Anselmi.
7 September 2024 – Daniele Silvestri – “The recidivist storyteller”
On stage the Roman artist Daniele Silvestri with his show “Il cantastorie recidivo”. A show that brings to the stage in an intimate way a selection of his most loved songs and new compositions, telling stories through his music imbued with poetry and social commitment. “Il Cantastorie recidivo” was born to celebrate 30 years of music. 30 years during which Silvestri has demonstrated a particular sensitivity in telling the stories of everyday life, addressing social and political issues in a direct and poetic way.
Stories that described our country and those who live in it in a sincere, ironic and romantic way. A combination of artistic talent, social commitment and stylistic versatility, which have made him one of the most significant figures on the Italian music scene.
