Events, parade of all the sports clubs with the dragon as symbols, procession in historical dress with musical band, tricolor smoke bombs thanks to the Thyrus flying team and inauguration ceremony. It is the day of the Thyrus in Terni, ‘unveiled’ again shortly after 4pm: after the installation on Thursday at the Filipponi roundabout, in front of the Chaos, today the official unveiling of the work from over 5 meters high – including the base – built with more than 400 steel plates donated by Ast and weighing approximately 10 tons. Below are the images of the initiatives developed on Saturday thanks to the organization of the Thyrus association headed by the sculptor Marco Diamanti. A novelty that ’embraces’ the administrations of Leonardo Latini and Stefano Bandecchi considering the start of the process and today. At the bottom the comment of both.

«The Thyrus is us, it represents us, it identifies us as a community. We immediately perceive its meaning – the social joy of the former mayor – because it is part of our history and our common feeling. It has its origins in a remote past but projects us into the future as a similar expression of our being Terni. It is our symbol and our intimate essence. And symbols do not divide but bind. In these days dedicated to our Thyrus I like to remember the great work and efforts made by many people and important entities in our city to donate the tallest Dragon in Italy to Terni, the first public work, as often underlined by the former councilor Cristiano Ceccotti, created thanks to the instrument of collaboration agreements. Made of our steel, protecting our river. And I am particularly pleased to think that my fiftieth birthday falls precisely in these days dedicated to Thyrus.”
