ROVIGO – Valeria Cittadin’s tour of the neighborhoods of Rovigo does not stop. On the morning of Saturday 15 June, the mayoral candidate returned to meet residents and traders of Boara.
“This community is united and lively, like that of many other hamlets – explained Cittadin – Along the streets and in the shops you can feel a great attachment to the territory and its symbols. Those who administer must take this into account and also provide this area of Rovigo with services, infrastructures and opportunities for families and traders”.
During her visit, Valeria Cittadin met merchants and artisans and visited the statue of Maria Fueghina, historic greengrocer from Boara, who lived for 106 years, spanning three centuries of history. “Whoever opens a shop doesn’t just offer goods, but does a service to the entire community. For this reason he must be helped to defend himself from the competition of large commercial chains. In Boara, as in the other quadrants of our municipality, we will encourage the creation of events and demonstrations that can bring the people of Rovigo closer to our wonderful heritage of historic shops – explained Cittadin – In this hamlet, in particular, they need a square in front of the Church of San Zeno, who isn’t there yet. And more decorum, more care of streets and sidewalks, as well as an effort, to be made together with higher bodies, to finance the renovation of sports facilities”.
As for the issue of roads, Cittadin talks about a general reorganization, which will first have to be shared with the inhabitants. “The season of choices made from above is over. Now we are inaugurating a new path made of listening and participation – she concluded – As for the long-awaited roundabout between the state road and Viale Porta Adige, I can guarantee that, if I am elected, in the first days of my mandate I will follow up on the indications received in recent weeks from the deputy minister to infrastructure Edoardo Rixi (READ ARTICLE), who gave the okay to the dialogue with Anas for the project.
In this way, we will solve the traffic problems of the entire northern area, guarantee greater safety for road users and, at the same time, be able to reduce pollution levels in this area”.
