Baccini: “This represents an appetizer of the cultural and recreational program of the summer in Fiumicino”

A “walk” that has put, and it has not happened so far many times, “an integrated system” food and wine, culture, art and entertainmentwhich are a candidate to be increasingly (and must be) a “trademark” and driving force for tourism and the economy of the Fiumicino area.

The mayor of Fiumicino, Mario Baccini, inaugurated this evening, at 7 pm, “La Via del Gusto”: on Via Torre Clementina, today and tomorrow, a widespread event will be staged in the name of tastings, in a food and wine journey in stages, which will see 54 entities combined, including 27 restaurants, bistros, taverns, pizzerias, bars and pastry shops, and 26 Lazio wineries and a brewery; all in a setting with eight musical groups and exhibitions of 32 painters and sculptors. Also cutting the ribbon on the stage in front of the pedestrian walkway were the councilors for Productive Activities and Tourism, Raffaello Biselli, who has been working on the event for some time, and Federica Poggio, as well as the organizers and promoters.

“We have put the value of a welcoming city back at the center – said Baccini – An unprecedented event that enhances our fine food and wine and that of Lazio, which also puts the economy into circulation, and which represents an appetizer of the summer cultural and recreational program which will be presented shortly“.

From 6pm to midnight, along the canal port and in Piazza Grassi, the first edition of the event promoted by the association of traders of Via della Torre Clementina and Centro Storico, with the patronage of the Lazio Region and the Municipality of Fiumicino, organized by RistorAgency, offers the opportunity to all participants, upon purchase of the ” kit” including glass, special pocket and tokens for tastings, to walk through a real “food district”. The special gazebos set up for the occasion along the “promenade” therefore offer customers small tastings of their most iconic dishes, as well as wines from the associated companies, coming from all over Lazio. These food-wine pairings also continue within participating restaurants.
