An act of impetus, linked to traffic issues, or a calculated crime, for economic issues linked to a sale in a judicial auction. And not only. The Carabinieri of Marcianise and those of the Provincial Command of Caserta, led by Colonel Manuel Scarso, are evaluating all the possible motives for the double murder which occurred in the early afternoon on the street in Orta di Atella.
Marco and Claudio Marrandino, who they were
The victims – the brothers Marco and Claudio Marrandino, aged 40 and 29, both with no criminal record – were well known in Cesa, where they were originally from. Marco Marrandino, a lawyer, had also been president of the city council in the past, elected with a civic list, while his brother was an entrepreneur in the construction sector. At the state of the investigations, there is no certainty as to the reasons that pushed the alleged murderer, a 53-year-old worker, also with no criminal record and from Cesa, to shoot them with a gun and kill them, apparently in both cases also with shots to the head.
The hypothesis that there were disagreements over economic issues, however, currently seems to be the prevailing one. Investigators are interviewing people to reconstruct the dynamics of the double murder – the brothers were in a white BMW and the worker in his car: it looks like someone saw them arguing, then Claudio was killed in the car, Marco outside while trying to escape – and to understand if among the protagonists of this tragedy there were any previous relationships and of what nature. The crime occurred between Orta di Atella and Succivo, in the Astragata area, near the exit of the median axis.

The bodies were discovered by a police crew that was on patrol in that area and who heard the shots. The military also saw the murderer fleeing and managed to intercept and stop him shortly afterwards. At first the methods suggested a Camorra ambush, but neither the victims nor the alleged murderer appear to have any links to organized crime circles. The investigators, however, do not exclude any leads, also taking into account that the double murder occurred a few years after the arrest of Emanuele Libero Schiavone, son of the repentant clan leader Francesco, and that in recent days, in the Caserta area, several violent episodes have occurred , a raid with dozens of shots fired also against the house of the Schiavone family in Casal di Principe, in the imminence, among other things, of the electoral round.
