MESSINA (ITALPRESS) – “The film production sector in Italy has been going through a difficult period for a few years, especially due to the lack of clarity in the new legislation on tax credit. We need to invest in and encourage more small and medium-sized businesses and independent cinema”. Thus the film producer Corrado Azzollini, who received the Troisi Award at the Marefestival Salina in the preview evening in Capo d’Orlando Marina.
“It is not easy to understand the future for producers who are not part of the big production houses – adds Azzollini, who is also national president of Confartigianato Cinema e Audiovisivo – We must preserve our creative ability, there is a lot of talk about Made in Italy, we must also valorise it from a cinematic point of view. The draft of the new law on tax credit, which is circulating, although not definitive, requires having a contract with the top twenty film distribution companies, a condition which would significantly penalize smaller producers, who would be excluded from the benefits. This is also due to the complicated situation of Italian cinemas, which are increasingly fewer and not modernised”. vbo
