Mariposathe eco-sustainable Moth class boat, created by Sailing Team of the University of Cagliari, has been officially launched. The team will participate in the last week of June in Malcesine on Lake Garda in the SuMoth Challenge races, against representatives of other universities from all over Europe. The UniCa Sailing Team, the sailing team of the University of Cagliari, is coordinated by Flavio Stochino (engineer and researcher at Dicaar) and is made up of 65 male and female students from Engineering and Architecture degree courses, but also of Economic, Legal and Political Sciences and Humanistic Studies, led by team manager Gian Mario Broccia. Godmother of the launch was the athletics champion Dalia Kaddari.

Also present at the ceremony were the rector of the University of Cagliari, Francesco Mola, and the skipper of the boat Gabriele de Marco. “These boys and girls are the standard bearers of our university, because they will carry the name of the University around Italy – underlined the rector – The launch falls in a particularly important year for the university, with the activation, for the first time in history, of the naval engineering course in Olbia next October”.
