In a room packed beyond belief, there were many exciting and spectacular moments that the artists present gave to the public starting from the piece sung without music by Mario Maglione who, among other things, during his speech wanted to underline the friendship that has linked him to Lucia Cassini since the 70s when the first Totò in a skirt founded the “Cabarinieri” acting together with Renato Rutigliano, Saverio Mattei, Aldo De Martino and Enzo De Caro. Acting as the star of the evening was Angelo Di Gennaro, one of the great Neapolitan artists awarded by Cassini. The presence of Giacomo Rizzo, an internationally renowned actor who represents a true institution in our country regarding the art of acting, was much appreciated. Among the winners is also the musician Tony Cercola, Pino Daniele’s first percussionist, for whom, as always, every type of object becomes a musical instrument. So much so that, before giving us the interview, as an internationally renowned percussionist that he is, he used the base of a wooden chair as a drum. And the music emanating from his hands was still poetry to the ears of those who listened, even though the instrument was a chair… The awards evening was also an opportunity to present “Ischia Forever” to the public and the press, the drama directed by Lucia Cassini and dedicated to the island of Ischia in which leading actors such as the late Carlo Croccolo, Patrizio Rispo, Francesco Paolantoni, Gino Rivieccio, Angelo Di Gennaro, Enrico Beruschi, Debora Terlizzi, Nando De Maio, Vincenzo collaborated and acted Imperato and Roberto Romano and each of them was given an award. A beautiful golden medal from Ischia Forever embellished with a tricolor ribbon. Prize also awarded to the Paralympic champion Gianni Sasso who starred in Cassini’s fiction. At the end of the gala evening, there was the cutting of the cake dedicated to Ischia Forever and prepared by the well-known and highly appreciated Master Pastry Chef Nicola Obliato of Angelo Fornito’s “Riccia e Frolla” pastry shop. The desserts from Pink House Cafè were added to the cake, all washed down with wines and sparkling wines offered by the Spampinato Cellars.
