In San Mauro Pascoli the Local Police reconstructed an episode which a week ago appeared to be vandalism which had disturbed the community. The red bench installed last year in the park named after Oriana Brunelli, the woman from San Mauro killed in Bellaria by a retired municipal officer, had been damaged. The country was buzzing about a possible insult to the memory of the murdered woman or a sign of opposition to the fight against violence against women.
None of this, because the surveillance cameras recorded the episode allowing the Local Police to reconstruct what happened. In practice four underage boys were playing and while they were chasing each other one attempted to jump over the bench. The young man didn’t succeed (he even hurt himself) by crashing through the boards of the bench. An absolutely involuntary gesture, then the boys walked away without saying anything.
The Municipality of San Mauro identified the young minors, including the perpetrator of the damage, and summoned the parents from whom the proposal to compensate for the damage originated. No complaints considering that it was an involuntary gesture with total lack of intent, but the damage to the public good will be compensated.
