Salerno, the associations move to the former placement

The associations “evicted” from former Gatto school in via Di Palo they will be able to move to via Sichelgaita, in the building that once belonged to the Employment Center which was moved to via Clark a few months ago. The transfer of the various entities hosted in the eastern area was established by a resolution of the council which establishes “allocate the available rooms in the structure in via Sichelgaita as a priority to the associations to which the properties in the structure of the former Gatto school had been assigned». Furthermore, the Social Policies sector will have to verify «the interest in the transfer of the associations receiving the assignment measures to the former Employment Center by acquiring a report on the activities carried out and a project proposal with respect to the social objectives of the interventions”while the Maintenance of municipal public assets sector will proceed with the stipulation of concession contracts.

As underlined in the resolution, all the associations involved in the match were informed of the administration’s intentions through a series of meetings. In essence, it is clarified in the document, the choice to transfer to via Sichelgaita arises from the fact that it emerged «the need, in order not to disperse the wealth of experiences and to give continuity to the active citizenship initiatives carried out by the numerous associations which over the years have become a point of reference for the citizens of Salerno». On the other hand, after the offices of the Employment Center were transferred to the industrial area (also because the building in via Sichelgaita was found unusable) and the works were completed, the building was designated «for social purposes and the implementation of community welfare actions by the Social Policies sector».
