The States General on the Environment in Campania are closed

Naples, 15 June. (askanews) – The urban waste management system in Italy and Campania and the presentation of the results of the “Maremovie” project. Thus ended the three rounds of the States General on the Environment in Campania, an event that took place at the Mostra d’Oltremare in Naples, as part of the Green Med Expo&Symposium. The central theme of the last day was waste management in regional and national policies. So Vannia Gava. Deputy Minister of the Environment and Energy Security: “The government is moving precisely with a view to sustainable development, that is, to protect the environment, the health of citizens and also the economy of the country. This can be do very well with waste because it must no longer be seen as a problem but rather as an opportunity and a resource. Because with the circular economy and therefore with innovation, with the new technologies that exist we can have all-purpose systems “avant-garde for the treatment and therefore for obtaining a secondary raw material which is what the country also needs at a time of lack of critical raw materials”. The Campania region, on the other hand, represented the work carried out in recent years with the program for recovering critical issues and investments both in terms of financial resources and innovative technological choices. The Vice President of the Campania region Fulvio Bonavitacola highlights that: “Today we said the management of the waste cycle is a new story, because there is actually a new story on the increase in waste separation, on the modernization of systems, on the fact that we do not want new waste-to-energy plants, nor new landfills, in short, a modern vision, we have the ambition to say that Campania is at the forefront. We have reduced the famous European fine by a third, we plan to reduce it by another third shortly and cancel it completely. this year”. During the last day there was the presentation of the “MareMoovie” competition which involved several schools called upon to produce videos aimed at enhancing the environment and environmental education. Claudia Conte writer and journalist: “young people are much wiser than we might think, because they have sent us very important messages, also remembering the events that have taken place such as the floods that have also occurred here in Campania, the there is also a need to organize plans against hydrogeological instability. Young people have a lot to teach and I must say that this project falls within these objectives. Two young actors from Mare Fuori, which is now a fiction that has arrived, also participated in today its fifth season, here in Campania they are really highly acclaimed”. Inside the Mostra d’Oltremare, the “Avenue of Sustainability” was set up, where all visitors were able to experience first-hand the meaning of the ecological transition, that is, that process of environmental revolution aimed at encouraging development while respecting the environment and of its sustainability.
