Cagliari, 15 June 2024 – The contracts of the workers of the Rizzeddu healthcare facility in Sassari, expiring on June 30th, will be extended until December 31st 2024. “Pending a more complex process aimed at stabilisation, we have had all contracts extended for six months. A useful period to identify and evaluate all the most suitable solutions to finally give a positive outcome to this long-standing dispute”, declared the regional councilors of Labor and Health, Desirè Manca and Armando Bartolazzi.
“Since my appointment to the Regional Council in 2019 – recalls the Labor Councilor – I have followed this delicate matter very closely which involves around forty social and health workers, who, despite their commitment and despite the many years of experience acquired in contact with the most fragile and less fortunate patients, they still endure the uncertainty linked to fixed-term contracts, sometimes even lasting a few months”.
“Today, thanks to the fruitful collaboration between departments, we have obtained a result that gives us great satisfaction, first of all because it protects forty Sardinian families from the risk of unemployment. A first step that will allow us to work quickly towards the final objective – underline the representatives of the Todde Council – of guaranteeing a dignified future for workers who, after many years of never-kept promises, are still waiting for a permanent contract”.
