From Abruzzo to Brussels: organized by the Abruzzo Region and special offices for Reconstruction (USRA and USRC). (Regflash) – L’Aquila, 15 June.
A traveling photographic and video exhibition on the state of reconstruction in the Municipality of L’Aquila and in the Municipalities of the seismic crater organized by the Abruzzo Region, in collaboration with the Special Offices for Reconstruction (USRA and USRC).
The exhibition, entitled “2009-2024: Fifteen years since the earthquake in Abruzzo”, will be composed of photographs of the most representative buildings from a historical, artistic, architectural, cultural and engineering point of view, shown before and after the repair or reconstruction interventions. The intent is to make visitors appreciate the meritorious activity of the Special Offices and Municipalities involved in the reconstruction.
The inauguration will be held in Brussels on Wednesday 19 June, at 6.30 pm, in the institutional headquarters of the Abruzzo Region, in the presence of the President of the regional council, Marco Marsilio, of the Director General, Antonio Sorgi, of institutional representatives of the EU, of Salvatore Provenzano owner of USRA and Raffaello Fico, USRC owner, the Ambassadors in Brussels, the associations of Abruzzo people in Belgium and the Italian Delegation to the Committee of the Regions, which will have its plenary session on 19 June.
The goal is to share with the public the progress and resilience demonstrated by our region over the past fifteen years, a special occasion to commemorate, reflect and look to the future with hope. The opening event will be enriched by the performance of the L’Aquila actor Marco Valeri, who will present a monologue on the L’Aquila earthquake. Subsequently, the exhibition will be exhibited in the main European office buildings in Brussels, before returning to L’Aquila in September, where it will be presented with an institutional event.
