Ater in Viale Baccelli, residents waiting

CIVITAVECCHIA – New problems for the residents of the Ater building in viale Guido Baccelli 79, still waiting to be transferred. Two weeks have passed since the meeting between the residents of the building and the commissioner of the Ater of Civitavecchia Massimiliano Fasoli who had reassured them on the timing and methods of moving but the days passed quickly and the situation remained unchanged with the residents, including several elderly people and small children, who essentially live with the construction sites started practically all around them and the situation is becoming particularly difficult.

«The workers live here – they explain – and coexistence is not the best. All day noises of work and shouting, others in the evening. In recent days there was also an argument. Furthermore, we packed our bags and boxes in a few days since we had been told that we would be transferred within a few days and yet still nothing.”

In the meeting of 31 May Fasoli had spoken about ten days before the first movements but the timescales have been extended, probably due to the failure to arrive of that long-awaited document from the Region which would unblock the situation on Pz4 by freeing up 40 accommodations which would serve as gold given the various works and the ranking for the assignment of houses in public housing which flows with a disarming slowness. Commissioner Fasoli, however, is working hard and reassures the inhabitants of building 79.

«The apartments have already been shown to two families – he explains -, we are proceeding by calling the families with the offices that are contacting them in recent days. Some things are being finalized in the apartments and we plan to start moving in the next ten days.” In short, an important reassurance comes from the number one of the organization in via Don Milani even if the inhabitants say they are tired of waiting while talking about a situation that is no longer tolerable.

As explained by Fasoli, however, the acceleration of the works is linked to the need to proceed quickly to respect all the deadlines dictated by the Pnrr which imposes a rather tight timetable, under penalty of repayment of the funds received.
