Last appointment, Tuesday 18 June, from 10.30 to 12.30, at the Ghiacciaia park (via Caduti sullavoro) with “Strumentando outdoor”, the series of musical workshops for boys and girls from zero to 11 years old and for their families which offers explorations sound, rhythm games, body percussion and movement games.
The initiative, proposed for the first time this year by the Educational Services of the Municipality of Modena, began last April and developed into five events in various city parks and squares.
The workshops offer musical games based on the age and number of participants who will be divided upon arrival into small homogeneous groups thanks to the presence of several musical experts from Arci who will lead the activities. Access is free and free, therefore those who wish to participate can show up directly on Tuesday 18 June, at 10.30 am, at the Ghiacciaia park.
During the activities, the little musicians will participate in the exploration of sound materials, in the soundtracking of stories or musical pieces, in the construction of musical instruments with recycled materials which will be used for small group instrumental performances. Simple rhythmic games can also be proposed with the use of the voice or Body Percussion to accompany nursery rhymes or rhythmic songs up to small movement choreographies to dance to the rhythm of traditional or ethnic music.
Music is a precious means for the cognitive, emotional and motor development of the child. Through listening and movement, a symbolic and relational space is offered aimed at activating cooperation and socialization processes, enhancing creativity and participation, developing a sense of belonging to the community and interaction between different cultures.
From September “Strumenando indoor” will bring children back to playing with music in the premises of the Municipality’s integrative services. In the new events at Triva, Barchetta, Memo, Momo and Ludoteca Strapapera we will still play with sounds and rhythms, building sound objects with poor materials and exploring the sounds of the world but also meeting real musical instruments, from small ones like the ukulele to large ones like the cello until we find many ways to create and share moments of discovery and valorization of the musical language even at home.
